The Bluestockings take the inspiration of their name from The Blue Stockings Society, established in England in the 18th Century.
As well as being highly trained and extensively experienced stage performers, the girls have graduated from a number of universities and colleges across a range of different disciplines - including music and the performing arts.
Their male guest vocalist is also no exception to the rule! Whilst a bluestocking is primarily known as an educated, intellectual woman, until the late 18th century the term was used to refer to learned people of both sexes. His vocal talent combined with the sweet harmonies of the girls are guaranteed to take you back in time to the legendary performers of a bygone age such as Bing Crosby and The Andrew’s Sisters!
